Know The Blackjack Terms!

To play any casino game or any game for that matter, the first thing that needs to be learnt is the terms that are used. New players are usually lost when looking at an online blackjack table for the first time, not knowing what the meanings of the terms displayed there are.

Let’s take a look at the terms used in blackjack and what they mean:

Hit – This is the term used when the player takes a new card after the first two cards are dealt out. There is no limit to the number of times hit can be clicked, as long as they don’t go bust.

Stand – This means the player does not take any new cards. The player stands when no more cards are needed or if the dealer has a weak up-card.

Double or Double Down – This term is used when the player doubles the wager after the initial cards are dealt. Players usually double the wager when they are sure they have a better chance of winning with the third card.

Split – Players get two similar cards when the cards are first dealt. Both the cards are split to make a new wager, which makes it two different hands.

Surrender – Players can surrender their cards and half their wager if they feel they have a bad hand and there is no chance of winning against the dealer.

Bust - If the cards value more than 21, then they have gone bust. The initial bet amount is taken by the dealer when the player goes bust.

A real money game cannot be played through trial and error. Knowing these terms creates a better understanding of the overall concept of the game.
